Distance and Blended Learning courses give candidates the opportunity to study at home, in their own time.  Each of the above courses is divided into two parts, Exercise & Fitness Knowledge Level 2 Theory, studied at home, and Practical Exercise Instruction (Gym-based or Exercise to Music Instruction), completed at the YMCA in Cambridge.

TARGET CANDIDATES
This course is suitable for those who wish to become either a Gym-based or Exercise to Music (ETM) Instructor and who

  • Wish to study the theory element of fitness instruction at their own pace
  • Would prefer to study at home with Course Manuals rather than online
  • PREREQUISITES
Candidate must be 16 years old or over. There are no other entry requirements; however, for those candidates wishing to enrol for the Exercise to Music Instruction (ETM) Certificate, it is strongly recommended that you have experience of ETM classes.
